Permanent record · Archive I

Nothing worthy
is permitted
to disappear.

The Digital Archive preserves the work, the creator, the edition, and the documented history connecting them.

Publication makes a work visible.
The archive keeps it findable.

The archive is the official continuity layer of The Hidden Quill. It does not claim ownership by storing a record, and it does not expose protected material merely because that material exists.

Preserved does not mean exposed.

Every record receives an access class. Restricted and creator-specific records never appear as public archive content.

SEALED

Six rules of continuity.

The Archive records history without rewriting it, and protects private material without pretending it never existed.

01

Identity

Every record receives one permanent archive identifier.

02

Provenance

The source, creator, edition, and record authority are documented.

03

Version

Updates create a dated version history; they do not silently replace the past.

04

Access

Public and restricted material remain clearly separated.

05

Integrity

The archive records what is verified and leaves unknown fields blank.

06

Continuity

Retired, alumni, and legacy records remain preserved with context.

Twelve fields define every archived record.

Fields remain “not yet entered” until an authorized source verifies them.
