Rights & Licensing Center · HQ—RGT

The work belongs
where the rights
say it belongs.

The administrative center for ownership records, permissions, licensing inquiries, and documented use of Hidden Quill works and marks.

Creation, submission, publication, and ownership are not the same act.

  1. 01Original authorship

Copyright protection generally begins when an original work is fixed in a tangible form; a Hidden Quill archive or submission record does not create that authorship.

  2. 02Creator retention

Submitting work for review does not transfer ownership. Any transfer or exclusive license requires separate written terms.

  3. 03Limited grants

A license identifies the exact rights, media, territory, language, duration, exclusivity, and restrictions granted.

  4. 04Verified authority

No request is approved until the rights holder or authorized representative has been documented.

  5. 05Accurate records

Registration, license, and trademark fields remain blank until official or contractual evidence is available.

Eight rights paths.

A request may cover one or several categories, but no category is granted merely because an inquiry has been received.

01

Print

Physical books, magazines, collected editions, and special print formats.

02

Digital

Ebooks, digital chapters, reader platforms, and electronic editions.

Every grant answers seven questions.

What right, for which work, to whom, where, in what language, for how long, and under what restrictions?

Negotiation is not permission.

Only a Licensed record tied to a completed written agreement represents an active grant.

01

Unverified

No confirmed rights documentation is on file.

02

Rights holder confirmed

Identity and authority have been documented.

03

Inquiry received

A licensing or permission request has entered review.

04

Under negotiation

Proposed terms are being discussed; no permission is granted.

05

Licensed

A written agreement defines the granted rights and limitations.

06

Expired or closed

The documented term ended or the request closed without a grant.

DREAM LICENSE

Aspirational only

A title identified as a dream license is an editorial goal. It does not represent ownership, authorization, negotiation, or partnership.

  • No secured permission implied
  • No release commitment implied
  • Rights remain with their holders
SECURED RIGHTS

Documented authority

A secured right requires verified authority and a written record defining the grant and its limits.

  • Rights holder verified
  • Scope documented
  • Term and territory recorded

Fourteen fields protect the chain of authority.

Every formal permission, license, or ownership record connects to the Digital Archive under restricted access when necessary.

Reports require specificity and authority.

The formal reporting channel is not yet active. Do not send sensitive identity documents or unpublished work until a verified contact method and privacy process are posted.

REPORTING INTAKE · NOT YET ACTIVE

A complete report should identify

  1. 01Reporter identity and contact information
  2. 02Identification of the protected work or mark
  3. 03Location of the disputed material
  4. 04Basis for the reporter’s authority
  5. 05Good-faith statement and requested action
  6. 06Signature and date

A DMCA takedown channel, if required for the service’s operation, must identify the proper designated agent and satisfy applicable notice requirements. General disputes may require different procedures.

Start with the authority.

This center provides an organizational framework, not legal advice. For filings, disputes, transfers, or agreements, consult qualified counsel and the relevant official agency.
